We are so incredibly thankful for all of you joining in our journey as we share Cockalier Cheer with the world. This is a project that the Huggins Family has wanted to initiate for some time, but just had not found the time to do it. But this semester, my college students at Belmont University challenged me to a competition in our digital marketing class. Every semester, they build a website and run a digital marketing campaign through a curriculum that I have created for students nationwide. It is called The Digital Engine. With this challenge, I thought this was the perfect time to start The Nosey Rosie.
While this website will follow the life of our Cockalier, Rosie Freckles, we wanted it to become more than just a dog with a blog. As many of you know, we have gone through many trials and tribulations with our children. Specifically, our twins were early and while Lauren was small but healthy, our son Blake was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). This condition occurs when the left side of the heart does not form in utero correctly. Therefore, Blake was born with basically half a heart. Through four major open heart surgeries and countless minor surgeries, Blake ultimately needed a heart transplant at the age of six. Many of you supported us during that time and for that we are extremely grateful. In addition to Blake, we lost our son, Tristan, 23 minutes after he was born to the exact same condition, HLHS. Through these experiences, we learned about the difficulties of being a parent to sick kiddos. Therefore, we want to use this website as an opportunity to give back to families with sick children. We want to use this site to help fund donations to families we know and families you know as much as possible.
With The Nosey Rosie, starting in November, we will start sponsoring one child a month. We will highlight these families in need and we will begin raising donations for these sponsored families. We look to call this initiative, our “Friendship Focus.” We hope that you will not only join in and providing resources to these families each month, but also help us spread the news about each one of these families in need. We are not asking for any amount specifically, just whatever you feel like giving. Some of these families already have GoFundMe accounts and some don’t. Each month we will provide the methodology for how you can support and provide links to the giving pages. We hope that you will join us in these efforts to make the difference in their lives that many of you shared with us during our time of need. To nominate a family that you would like us to consider for this monthly sponsorship, please complete this form: Nominate a Friend
